Star Wars!
Is that enough to get your attention? The fifth annual PalmCon comic book convention at the Palm Beach County Convention Center hopes so. The two-day convention September 26-27 hopes to trade on the excitement surrounding the upcoming film (and last weekend’s merchandise dump) with a pair of Star Wars headliners.

No Harrison Ford, unfortunately. But PalmCon does have a couple of names, including one who has seen the new “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” due in U.S. theaters on Dec. 18.
Matthew Wood was the lead sound editor on the new film. Previously, he lent his voice to the light saber-spinning robot General Grievous in “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” as well editing sound on that and previous Star Wars films.
“We wanted to have a major ‘Star Wars’ presence and hopefully that will bring the fans out to enjoy the show,” said PalmCon’s founder Martin Pierro.

In the past, PalmCon has a been the local gathering spot for lovers of comics, video games and all things involving geek-out culture — with fans who dress up amazingly for the event.
The show will also have another presence from the “Star Wars” universe, actor Catherine Taber, who performed the voice of Padme Amidala in the animated series, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”
A full lineup of featured guests and link to purchase tickets — $13.50 a day or $20 for a full two-day pass — is up at PalmCon’s website.
